The 7 Insight Loops:
Boosting Project Success

Stakeholder engagement in decision making is critical to project success. This we all know.

The challenge is the practical application of stakeholder engagement.

The when, the where, and the how in order to boost project success.

There are 7 key points in a project where more meaningful stakeholder engagement will increase success and return a healthy ROI for the investment.

We supplement your project team's capabilities by facilitating these 7 Insight Loops:

Success Loops – Each stakeholder will have a unique perspective on what the success of a project looks like. Getting these views on the table and prioritized informs the project’s scope and builds buy-in and commitment from stakeholders.

Obstacles Loops - Identifying and prioritizing real and potential obstacles at the beginning of a project enable early mitigation strategies to be developed. Obstacle identification is a creative process where diversity is celebrated, and care is taken to minimize biases.

Progress Loops - As the project proceeds through phases or iterations, new obstacles and definitions of success will surface.  Projects need to adapt to changing landscapes and hidden information early to minimize costly project “surprises” later.

Problem Loops - Diagnosing a problem and determining its many potential causes is a very creative exercise best performed with a diverse stakeholder group. Problem diagnosis can quickly slide into the “blame game” if care is not taken to provide psychological safety where fear of reprisal is minimized.

Solution Loops – Developing a rich set of creative alternatives is critical before deciding on the best course of action.  Project stakeholders are wary of contributing their time to solution development if the organization’s culture is one of bureaucracy and dysfunction so minimizing these factors is key to engagement.

Launch Loops – There is not a project in the world that will be perfect on launch and the faster the issues and gaps can be identified and remedied the sooner the benefits will be realized.  Capturing the real-time insights of project stakeholders is also one of the most competitive weapons an organization can implement to fight uncertainty and volatility.

Reflection Loops - Everyone intellectually agrees that the learnings from a project should be discussed and shared as knowledge for future phases or new projects.  Only a minority of projects implement these valuable reflections because traditional approaches are often seen as inefficient and disrespectful.
